The main topic of this paper is the evaluation of effects of Ilam broadcasting program on Kurdish culture in Ilam province. In this regard, the attitude of cultural elites in the Ilam native culture is analyzed. The reason for selecting them is that they are of high status in the Ilam culture as well as in the planning process of other media related to the Kurdish culture. In order to formulate the theoretical framework, four theories are considered including the Colonization of the Lifeworld,agenda-setting, Spiral of Silence and the dependent theories. In this qualitative research, the topic is investigated via carrying out in-depth interviews with the Ilam cultural elite. Based on theoretical saturation, 15 people are interviewed. The results of this study indicate that the cultural elites believe that Ilam broadcasting programs reduces official prestige of the Kurdish language and also show the Kurdish culture as an unimportant culture. The interviewees also refer to the damage done to the Kurdish standard languagein Ilam broadcasting programs such as failure to use the proper standard accent and Kurdish orthography, loss of correct scientific word coinage and calque from the Persian language.

The main argument in this paperis that the media activities (the press in particular) as one of the three sides of social mobilization have improved after the Islamic Revolution along with development in education and literacy. In the mid 1980’s,thearea of activities of the press have developed with the rapid growth of public higher education, urbanization and the increasing demand for political freedom. One of the most important indicators of political development issocial mobilization. In other words, social mobilizationoften includes the infrastructure of political development and is also the cornerstone of the development process. Social mobilization is the result of there lation between the level of urbanization, education, training and activities in the media and publication of information. As dependent factors, these three variable scontributeto the process of political participation and lead to political development.

The topic discussed in this research is the representation of Iranian society in facing modernity in Bitter Coffee TV series directed by Mehran Modiri. The question is whether the Iranian society is represented as an unreasonable phenomenon incompatible with modernity or not. To answer this question, the narrative analysis (Greimas actors’ analysis pattern) is used. Then, using the postcolonial studies, we criticized the representation of the traditional and modern characters; the barriers of developing modernity in Iran. After the Greimas pattern being adapted with four episodes of the TV series, the findings show that all of the traditional characters are represented as the other for “Mostasharolmolk” (the symbol of modernity). In other words, they are characterized using stereotypes such as stupid, lazy, profit-seeking, and illogical. On the other hand, the protagonist (the symbol of modernity) is represented as creative, active and logical. All over the series, Mostasharolmolk has an active role. Regarding this, we can conclude that the Iranian society and culture are represented as if they had no motivation to change and progress. Therefore, the Iranian society is lacks any abilities to change and any attempts to become modern. In the series narration, the main barriers of developing modernity include the structure of the educational system, the vertical structure of the power, Iranian despotism, the stupidity and laziness of the Iranians, which hold them back from achieving their goals. Based on the postcolonial criticism, we can claim that although the series is correctly showing the weaknesses of the Iranian society, the dominant narration of the series approximates the Orientalistic discourses which are criticized by the postcolonial studies.

We witness urgent changes in technology and complexity of the environment complexity in the third millennium. In such conditions and considering the advantages of new technologies and modern equipment, organizations know how to use these technologies so as to survive and increase their efficiency in such competitive world. However, we still witness abuse (cyber loafing) of these new technologies including internet that has recently caused many problems and damages. The most important step in this regard is to study and identify factors effective in cyber loafing and ways of preventing this phenomenon. The aim of this study is to specify the causes and consequences of cyber loafing in airlineagencies located in Tehran and to make suggestions for reducing cyber loafing cases. The methodology is qualitative (grounded theory) and the data arecollected through interviews and papers. The presented model in the research is a Paradigm Model. The results show that individual, organizational, environmental/external factors are among the reasons which play an important role in cyber loafing.
