Interdisciplinary Studies in Media and Culture is a biannual, open-access scientific journal published by the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies (IHCS). The journal aims to advance theoretical perspectives and disseminate original research findings in the fields of media, communication, and culture.
Established in 2010 (1389) at the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies, in association with the Research Institute for Cultural Studies and Communication, the journal welcomes original, innovative, and interdisciplinary research addressing current and emerging issues in media, communication, and cultural studies.
In accordance with the regulations governing scientific journals issued by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran, the journal accepts and publishes scholarly contributions in a range of formats, including Research/Original Articles, Review Articles, Short Papers, Case Studies, Methodological Articles, Applied Articles, Viewpoints/Perspectives, Conceptual Papers, Technical Papers, and Outreach Articles. All manuscripts are subject to the journal's peer-review process and must meet its academic and editorial standards.
Interdisciplinary Studies in Media and Culture supports and follows the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). All articles published by the journal are freely and immediately accessible online without subscription or access fees.
The journal is committed to providing unrestricted access to its published scholarly content while respecting authors' rights and applicable intellectual property regulations.
In accordance with the regulations of the Commission for Scientific Journals of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran and the resolution of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies, the journal charges a manuscript submission and peer-review fee of IRR 3,000,000 (300,000 tomans) and a final acceptance fee of IRR 3,000,000 (300,000 tomans).
