Abstract
The aim of the article is to examine the role of national television series in promoting social cohesion between Iranian ethnicities. This research examines the series "Shahriar" to investigate the representation of this ethnicity and the performance of the national media in strengthening or weakening social harmony between ethnicities. The main research question is "What is the role of the series "Shahriar" broadcast by the national media in social harmony in Iran?" The theoretical literature of the research is around the four axes of "Discourse Theory", "Durkheim's Solidarity Theory", "Stuart Hall's Representation Theory" and "Giddens's Ethnic Integration Theory".

The research method is "Operational Method in Discourse Analysis (PADAM)" for analyzing the series and the unit of scene analysis, and the whole series is considered as the unit of analysis.

The most important findings of the research indicate that the representation of common values of society, including religious, social, national and ethnic, in the series "Shahriar" increases the attachment of this ethnicity to the country and, as a result, increases social harmony.
