One of the important factors in attracting audiences to a TV program is the program titles because the first encounter of the audience with a program is its title. There are many factors involved in choosing the appropriate title for programs, which can be identified and classified in terms of linguistics. Dor (2003) considers intertextuality as the most important element of meaning appropriateness, and Ifantidou (2008) regards the salience element as the most important factor in making an appropriate title. By examining the titles of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting Programs (IRIB) during a six-month period, it is evident that Iranian programmers have focused on the salience element and have not paid much attention to the intertextuality of the chosen titles.

Although satire is not a new issue in Iran's social history, it enjoys a shorter background in the realm of media. Naturally, the presence of this newcomer in newspapers, has brought new issues alongside itself. Experts have considered two main features or purposes for satire. One is criticism and the other modification. The latter can be considered the result of the first, if everything ends up fruitfully. These two purposes can be thought of as the most effective functions for satire, though overgeneralization cannot be done in this regard either. However, a satirist should be familiar with media ethics, freedom of press, and privacy. He should also know the functional concept of satire and apply criticism and modification principles to his writings. In the present research, we have discussed the effect and role of media ethics in the field of written satire of nationwide journals so as to have paid the due attribute from this viewpoint as well. Media theories, the fundamental theories of ethics and media, and normative theories of media have been used in this research. The research method was measurement and the means of data collection was questionnaire. The statistical community which has been considered totally consists of 84 members composed of journal satirists and caricaturists throughout the country.

Criticizing and discussing media technology theories which are predominant in Para-Communicational literature, would help media scholars to better understand the nature of modern media. Although instrumentalism is an outdated approach in epistemological studies of media, it is still applied in communication theories. Determinism in different forms such as technological autonomy, technological necessity, technical evolutionism, and media technologies as the only cause of all social changes has simply remained as a claim. However, there are some determinists who reject the ultimate importance and influence of media technologies and do consider some roles for media spaces, too. Social structuralism as the latest post-determinism theory, tries to shed light on ambiguities and exaggerations which were presented by instrumentalism and determinism supporters, during the last century; moreover, it confirms the influence of technology on society and asserts that media technologies have emerged from a social historical context. This paper criticizes two main paradigms in communication studies and emphasizes on social structuralism as an alternative theory.

Honor killing is a social reality which has existed since ancient times. Such murders are committed by a person who believes that the victim has brought shame to the family by actions which bear social stigma, including improper love affairs, betraying one’s spouse, adultery, running away from home, losing virginity, and so forth. Many factors are involved in occurrence of honor killings, including customs, patriarchal cultures, the society’s penal and other laws, and mass media. With their widespread availability, attraction and variety, mass media have many positive and negative impacts on occurrence of honor killings. The many aspects of this impact need to be taken into account in establishing a sound, consistent and well-thought criminal policy which will prevent occurrence of honor killings by all means. Public media can encourage honor killings by making programs which approve and preserve certain customs. In fact, the role of media in promoting culture of honor killing is so central that if any action is to be taken to prevent such murders it, in the same manner, needs to be supported by media.

With the quantitative and qualitative development of modern media, national identity and solidarity should be sought not in denying the diversity of identities but in expressing identity and playing the role of ethnic groups in Iran's cultural field. The present study seeks to identify the most effective national media program in promoting the ethnic identity of Zahedan as the center of one of the vast and, of course, multi-ethnic provinces of the country in the coming decade, taking into account this fundamental belief and using a case-by-case approach. Therefore, out of 6132 young people aged 18 to 20 in this city as a statistical population, 651 people were selected as the sample size by simple random method and a 13-question questionnaire was conducted which validated and validated using Cronbach's alpha and the opinions of experts. They were distributed. The results of questionnaire data analysis using Chi-square and Friedman tests indicate that in various national media programs in Zahedan, from the perspective of respondents, "distribution of ethnic social events" can have the greatest impact on strengthening ethnic identity in the decade. Have a future.

Metaphysical view takes language as the performance of human thought in action and considers it as a communicative mean and expression medium. When the Language as a general communicative medium mixes with human taste and merges with sentiment and imagination to manifest beauty in the statement then it is called art and changes to be a specific medium rather that a public one. Sometimes Art is represented by words configuration and play with letters and words, sometimes in the frame of line and paint, sometimes in form of a stone, an iron or a wood statue, and sometimes in the vibration of melody and music, then art named as poem, theater, sculpture and music. So poem should be considered as a typical pattern of art and art as a typical pattern of language, and it should establish some sort of particular generality –specialty relation between them. But Heidegger however by questioning the essence of being, truth, human, language, art and poem destructs the west metaphysical history and clears up the abyss of overturned bases and relations, from merging emergence of primordial neglect of the truth of existence and the lack of ontology in the setting of existence to sensual subjectivity and dispersion of the human nature in reality and totality of abiding of beings to Being in the form of nihilism, and find a new relation between existence, truth, human, language, art and poem.

Beside swasting time, energy and human resources, any delay in taking actions in this regard will have dangerous and detrimental effects. This study investigates the role of the Voice of America satellite network in advancing the goals of the USA in the Islamic Republic of Iran during 2009 – 2011. The main question in this study is about the role of the Voice of America satellite network in advancing the US goals in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Accordingly, different dimensions and the roles which the network plays in advancing the US goals in our country are referred to. The hypothesis is that the Voice of America media network provides the grounds for advancing the US goals against Iran by highlighting the conflicts concerning the nuclear program, human right sandterrorism and problems caused by sanctions.

Four models of media effects, namely direct effects, conditional effects, accumulative effects and cognitive effects will be studied along with their variables. The significance of these models lay in their different focus on content and audience. Since these models are not comprehensive per se, they cannot be used individually for the analysis of data. Therefore, these models are compared by applying Fuzzy Topsis method and then they are ranked according to their effectiveness. Details about the priority of each model are discussed fully.

Both Iranian and Indian civilizations have a long antecedent in the history of Asia. The comparison between Rig-weda and Avesta clearly shows this meaning. Beliefs, religions (ethics), common myths and their reflection on the pre-Islamic Iranian Art and Architectonic, demonstrate the common origin of the two civilizations, especially on the basis of the common Ariaian antecedent of both nations. The present article, among comprehensive thinking relations between these two great Islamic and Indian civilizations, deals with the issue of existential monism, which its wide use has caused Muslim thinkers to avoid it, in order to clear their religious differences with the Upanishad-based Hinduism (specially the philosophical Vedantism). This article explains the common aspects between Islam and Hinduism which has resulted in peace and mutual agreement between these two religions, and even has led to the emergence of some new ways like “divine religion” by Akbar ( 963-1014 /1556-1605) , the third Gurkanian king. Furthermore, I would like to insist on this fact that the efforts to bring about differences between Muslims and Hindus as a great part of Asian identity have political roots and especially done by England.

Not a mechanical way of picture production, photography is a way for communication. Considering the researches have been done about the functions of photograph in Iran, we rarely face with a qualitative analysis on the history of this sort of media. Therefore, doing such a research, based on the macro structures of the society, is a necessary. The authors attempt to analyze the dominant atmosphere of photography in the present time. In order to reach this goal, we look at photography through the perspective of ‘discourse’ to answer these questions: which discourse, and why and how, has been formed in the present time? And what is the relationship between this discourse and the previous ones? In other words, we are facing with the contrast between the present discourse and its history. For this purpose, the authors take a look at the history of Iranian photography to get a better understanding of its current situation. The methodological framework of this research is based on Michel Foucault’s and Stuart Hall’s thoughts. The authors prove that the current situation of photography in Iran is dominated in a sort of cultural discourse, and this discourse is in a dialectical connection with the political and social discourses of its history. The analysis of power relations, the role of the politics and the procedure of subjectification and objectification are items which the authors concentrate on.

Abbas Kiarostami’s cinematic works could potentially be analyzed in the realm of philosophy. French philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy in his book, ‘The Evidence of Film’, discovers the philosophical world of Kiarostami’s works. The Evidence of Film demonstrates Nancy’s own cinematic viewpoints and by discussing seven films of Kiarostami portraits the interaction between his own thoughts and Kiarostami’s views. It contains some critical elements for the modern aesthetics advancement as well. However, as the book is an artistic work rather than an academic endeavor, more effort is needed to identify the significance of its logical comparison to film theory. It contains three sections: an article on Kiarostami’s films—“Where is the Friend’s Home” to “The Wind Will Carry Us”—a viewpoint on “Life and Nothing More…” and a conversation between Nancy and Kiarostami. The current paper is an attempt to analyze Kiarostami’s works based on Nancy’s philosophical views which have their basis in notions of “evidentio”, “true essence”, “sight and image” and “the meaning of life”.

"Philosophy of media" is a term with a history almost more than ten years. Hansen, Hartman, and Sandbothe are among those who have employed and discussed the term positively or critically. Some others such as Debray, Mark Taylor, and Walter Benjamin have spoken of mediology instead of the philosophy of media and maintained that the latter is a wrong way to knowledge which is doomed to commit errors concerning media. As a very new branch of the contemporary philosophy, the philosophy of media is still the subject matter of deep discussions about media; and, in spite of its severe critiques of philosophy of media, mediology has not managed to stop it. What is of importance concerning philosophical discussion about media may be introduced in the form of such questions as "what is the philosophy of media and how is it defined?", "is philosophizing concerning media some sort of ontology, epistemology, or phenomenology of the media?", "may one speak of and philosophize about the media and their functions in the way that the analytic philosophers do?" While reviewing the history of emergence of the philosophy of media in brief, the present article tries to provide a definition for it; and to reply the above questions it discusses the kind of philosophizing about media. According to the authors, philosophy of media, in spite of claims made by the adherents of mediology, is possible; and it is the same as philosophical knowledge of the media. In other words, the philosopher is able to philosophically discuss the media like phenomena such as mind, knowledge, and arts. Though, independent from its relation to man (the addressee) and, somehow, independent from the nature of awareness, the media have no independent existence; they are of influence on man's awareness and perception. To speak about the kind of impacts exerted by media on perception concerns ontological, epistemological, phenomenological, and analytic views to the media.
