The question is whether the Iranian society is represented as an unreasonable phenomenon incompatible with modernity or not. To answer this question, the narrative analysis (Greimas actors’ analysis pattern) is used. Then, using the postcolonial studies, we criticized the representation of the traditional and modern characters; the barriers of developing modernity in Iran. After the Greimas pattern being adapted with four episodes of the TV series, the findings show that all of the traditional characters are represented as the other for “Mostasharolmolk” (the symbol of modernity). In other words, they are characterized using stereotypes such as stupid, lazy, profit-seeking, and illogical. On the other hand, the protagonist (the symbol of modernity) is represented as creative, active and logical. All over the series, Mostasharolmolk has an active role. Regarding this, we can conclude that the Iranian society and culture are represented as if they had no motivation to change and progress. Therefore, the Iranian society is lacks any abilities to change and any attempts to become modern. In the series narration, the main barriers of developing modernity include the structure of the educational system, the vertical structure of the power, Iranian despotism, the stupidity and laziness of the Iranians, which hold them back from achieving their goals. Based on the postcolonial criticism, we can claim that although the series is correctly showing the weaknesses of the Iranian society, the dominant narration of the series approximates the Orientalistic discourses which are criticized by the postcolonial studies.}, keywords = {postcolonial studies,Representation,Narrative Analysis,Greimas actors analysis,Modernity,Bitter Coffee}, title_fa = {نقد پسااستعماری بازنمایی شخصیت‌های سریال قهوۀ تلخ در مواجهه با مدرنیتۀ ایرانی}, abstract_fa = {مسئلۀ این پژوهش، بازنمایی جامعۀ ایران در مواجهه با مدرنیته در سریال قهوۀ تلخ مهران مدیری است؛ یعنی، پرسش اصلی ما این است که آیا در این سریال، جامعۀ ایران پدیده‌ای نامعقول و ناسازگار با مدرنیته بازنمایی می‌شود؟ برای پاسخ به این پرسش، از روش تحلیل روایت (الگوی تحلیل شخصیت‌های گریماس) استفاده کرده‌ایم. سپس، با استفاده از مطالعات پسااستعماری به نقد بازنمایی شخصیت‌های سنتی و مدرن و موانع شکل‌گیری مدرنیته در ایران پرداخته‌ایم. یافته‌های پژوهش بعد از تطبیق الگوی گریماس بر چهار اپیزود سریال، نشان ‌می‌دهد که همۀ شخصیت‌های سنتی سریال، به‌عنوان دیگری «مستشارالملک» (نماد مدرنیته) بازنمایی شده‌اند؛ به عبارتی، با استفاده از کلیشه‌هایی مانند کندذهن، تنبل، منفعت‌طلب و بی‌منطق شخصیت‌پردازی شده‌اند. در مقابل، قهرمان داستان (نماد مدرنیته) شخصیتی خلاق، فعال و منطقی بازنمایی شده است. در کلّ سریال، مستشارالملک نقش فاعل را برعهده ‌دارد؛ از این مسئله می‌توان چنین نتیجه گرفت که فرهنگ و جامعۀ ایران افراد را به‌گونه‌ای بازنمایی می‌کند که هیچ انگیزه‌ای برای تغییر و پیشرفت ندارند. بنابراین، جامعۀ ایران فاقد هرگونه توان برای تغییر و تلاش به سمت مدرن‌شدن است. در روایت سریال، موانع اصلی شکل‌گیری مدرنیته که عبارت‌اند از: ساختار نظام آموزشی، ساختار عمودی قدرت، استبداد ایرانی، کندذهنی و تنبل‌بودن ایرانیان، مانع رسیدن قهرمان داستان به اهدافش می‌شود. بر اساس نقد پسااستعماری، می‌توان گفت اگرچه سریال بر نقاط ضعف جامعۀ ایران به‌درستی دست می‌گذارد، در‌ نهایت روایت غالب سریال به گفتمان‌های شرق‌شناسانه نزدیک می‌شود که مورد نقد مطالعات پسااستعماری است.}, keywords_fa = {مطالعات پسااستعماری,بازنمایی,تحلیل روایت,تحلیل شخصیت‌های گریماس,مدرنیته,قهوۀ تلخ}, url = {https://mediastudy.ihcs.ac.ir/article_898.html}, eprint = {https://mediastudy.ihcs.ac.ir/article_898_e1098bd78af635c40aa5df0f1d8ef9af.pdf} }
